“The theatrical craftsmanship on display tonight is outstanding”
“Gilhooly and Lenaghan weave a despicable tale of debauchery that mesmerises their audience”
“...well written dialogue, a fast paced plot and the wonderful performances of two fine actors”
Enter the courtroom for the trial of William Burke, the murderer of sixteen men, women and children in Edinburgh, 1828. When his accomplice, William Hare, is taken in as a witness, all is not what it seems. Who tells the truth? Who lies in front of the law? And how did this long-standing friendship turn into betrayal?
Darragh Gilhooly’s premiere play will make you dive into Victorian Edinburgh, where you will witness firsthand the twisted relationship of Burke and Hare and the secrets that led to their destruction.
After two sell out runs, Naming Cows and The Viking Theatre present the darkly comical new play, The Anatomy of Burke and Hare.
