SHARD

SHARD

'An isolated island. An idyllic commune of like-minded people.’

‘A chance at a new beginning. An Irish Folk Horror’.

Written by: Stewart Roche

Directed by: Alan Smyth

Performed by: Neill Fleming

★★★★★ The Arts Review: “Roche’s SHARD is touched by the aura of brilliance… Fleming’s performance is brilliance incarnate.”

★★★★ Irish Mail on Sunday: “Fleming delivers one of the most striking performances of this or any year… totally convincing.”

★★★★ Sunday Independent: “A gripping Irish folk horror… Fleming is alarmingly good here and Roche delivers an awesome set-up.”

★★★★ No More Workhorse: “A triumph of atmosphere and imagination… a one-man masterclass.”

After a sell-out premiere in LA, a sold-out run at Bewley's Café Theatre and a critically acclaimed BBC radio adaptation, we are delighted to welcome Stewart Roche’s SHARD to The Viking.

You wouldn’t think it to look at him now, but Spooner was once the perfect company man until an invitation from the enigmatic Kemp lures him into a community where the promise of a different life conceals a far more unsettling truth: some places are never meant to be lived in… and in some places, nature has a will of its own.
