Nan, a grandmother in her seventies is becoming increasingly forgetful. She’s also been left with the added challenge of rearing Thomas, her wayward grandson, on her own.

The story takes place in a sweep of locations from Nan’s flat near the 5 Lamps, to a film set in Wicklow, from the old Log Cabin in Fairview to Dunnes Stores in Henry Street, from The Mater Hospital to the Garda station in Store Street.

With brushes with the Guards, dramatic shoplifting episodes, break-ins, court appearances, and a constant battle with school attendance and probation officers, THE CLOUDSPOTTER explores the rawness of life. But deep at its core is the deeply felt love between a grandmother and her grandson.
