‘As lewd as it is tender, it is the three performances under Peter Reid’s direction that make these characters so engaging’ – MetroHerald

After a hugely successful nationwide tour, and a sell out week  Back of the Hand is delighted to announce ‘Port Authority’s’ return to  Viking Theatre, Clontarf.

McPherson’s triptych of interlocking monologues was first performed in 2001 at the New Ambassadors Theatre in London, and went on to receive critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. The everyday stories at the centre of Port Authority are full of subtle poignancy and humour. New York Times critic Ben Brantley said when describing the 2008 Atlantic Theatre production:

“I found myself holding on to what these actors had to say as if I were a 5-year-old at bedtime being introduced to ‘The Arabian Nights.’”

This exciting new production will mark the company’s first collaboration with director Peter Reid, best known for his work on Beckett and Pinter. The show will star Dick Toibin, Art Kearns and Edwin Mullane.
